QPR defender Rio Ferdinand has been banned for three matches by the Football Association for a tweet on Twitter. The former Manchester United defender posted a tweet over recent weeks which the FA have deemed unacceptable, although they are refusing to release details on the actual tweet. The 43-year-old has been named as the permanent replacement for Felix Magath, who was sacked earlier this season. Swansea City manager Garry Monk will face no action despite calling Stoke City’s Victor Moses a ‘cheat’. Monk accused the Nigerian international of diving to win a penalty in the 2-1 defeat to Stoke in the Premier League on October 19, a comment which left opposite coach Mark Hughes unhappy.
