Man United target Pique linked with Chelsea move

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is reportedly keen on making a move for Barcelona defender Gerard Pique.

The Catalan defender has been strongly linked with an exit from Barcelona in recent times with many of the clubs fans and media men torn over his form and impact on the team.

A return to Man United has been mentioned in both English and Spanish press and although Pique himself responded to the rumours with denial earlier this season; further links are being maintained.

However, it is now understood that Chelsea are ready to spend £30m on the defender.

We understand that Mourinho will discuss his interest with former Barca man Cesc Fabregas, whom is close friends with Pique and his celebrity partner Shakira.

Cesc may well be used to tempt Pique into joining Chelsea, much like Mourinho tempted the midfielder to avoid a return to Arsenal and arrive at Stamford Bridge.
