Kit Symons takes over at Fulham

Kit Symons has been appointed the new permanent Fulham manager, the Championship side have announced.

The 43-year-old has been named as the permanent replacement for Felix Magath, who was sacked earlier this season.

Fulham owner Shahid Khan has been largely impressed with the former Academy coach and held formal interviews on Wednesday afternoon, which have ultimately led to his appointment as boss.

Steve Clarke, Chris Hughton and Steve Bruce had all emerged as potential candidates to take over.

Symons has been largely successful already whilst having acted as caretaker boss in a five-week spell and has guided the club out of the relegation zone.
