Former Man United boss Moyes may miss out on Inter Milan role

Former Manchester United boss David Moyes may miss out on taking over at Inter Milan after owner Erick Thohir backed current boss Walter Mazzarri.

The former Man United boss was heavily linked with taking over Mazzarri earlier this week after it was reported the Italian coach was handed an ultimatum to save his Serie A job.

However, Moyes’ chances of getting back into football and taking over the San Siro have now been dealt a blow after Inter owner Erick Thohir rubbished those reports.

“We will see in the next two games… We want to give him another chance.

“My words were misinterpreted,” Thohir told reporters on Monday. “I firmly believe in the work of the coach, the team and the future of this project.

“Nobody has given an ultimatum to Mazzarri although, of course, the results are important. Evidently, my words were poorly understood.

“I was very happy indeed with the win against Cesena and the character shown by the team.”
