Chelsea have completed the signing of right-back Cristian Manea from Viitorul Constanta for a fee of £2.3 million on a five-year contract.
The Blues are on somewhat of a mission of late, attempting to build for the future and they have now completed a deal for Romanian defender Manea, as reported by us in March.
Manea had been impressing with Viitorul Constanta and attracted the attention of Chelsea scouts playing consistently well for the club and at international level for his country’s U16 side.
He has been capped once by the Romania senior national side and had been gaining interest from a number of clubs across Europe, including Arsenal, Ajax and Udinese.
Manea is expected to put pen to paper on a five-year deal with Chelsea, but is likely to leave the club this summer on a season long loan.
