Nasri: Pellegrini wants me to make France return

Samir Nasri has claimed that Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini has asked the midfielder to make a return to th France national side.

Nasri has recently accused France boss Didier Deschamps of ‘depriving’ him of the chance to play for his country, missing the World Cup last summer.

Nasri has a superb season last term for City and has continued that form into this season, featuring from the start on a regular basis for Pellegrini’s side.

The 27-year-old has further spoken of his exemption from the national side and said he will not forgive Deschamps for the way in which he has been treated.

“Missing the World Cup was the biggest disappointment of my career,” he told L’Equipe.

“That is what hurts me the most. Deschamps deprived me of it when I deserved it. I will never forget that.

“I feel bad, especially for my family, when people say that I create problems all the time. I do not think I deserve such a trial. The France players who went on strike [in 2010] were forgiven but I wasn’t.

“If I could speak to Deschamps, I would say he should behave like a man, to justify his choice and tell me what he thinks.

“To tell me: ‘Listen, it’s like this, you won’t come to the World Cup with us. If you are not happy, well, so be it.’ He should at least have talked about it with me like a man.”

Nasri also revealed that Pellegrini has asked him to return to international football.

“Pellegrini asked me to return to selection,” the ex-Marseille and Arsenal man added. “But that would not make me happy.

“I would suffer, if I did. I really do not see myself returning to the France team. I am being sincere.”
