Press Room: Pulis happy; Monk concerned with Swansea form

West Bromwich Albion head coach Tony Pulis has heaped praise on his side after their 2-0 victory over Swansea City on Wednesday evening.

The Baggies secured all three points at The Hawthorns to move themselves further away from the relegation zone and ensure Pulis’ fine start as manager of the club continues.

And, the former Stoke City boss has discussed his pleasure over the win and claimed that his side have a lot more to offer, moving forward.

“It was a good performance so we are pleased, but we know it’s small steps towards where we want to go and we need to keep our feet on the ground,” he told BBC Radio 5 live.

“We played well as a team, both in possession, and out of possession and we looked like a team. It was the best performance since I have been here, against a good side.”

Meanwhile, opposite number, Garry Monk, issues his concern over his side’s recent poor performances.

“It is my job to make sure complacency doesn’t creep in,” he told Sky Sports News. “We are in a position to achieve things that we haven’t done in the league before.

“We won’t get anywhere playing like that, but we need to pick ourselves up.”
