Manchester City loanee Matija Nastasic is eager to turn his loan spell at Bundesliga side Schalke into a permanent move.
The Serbian defender joined Roberto Di Matteo’s side in January, having failed to hold down a starting place at the Etihad stadium.
The 21-year-old has initially joined in a loan spell but it is now understood that City officials are keen to sell players to make up for the signing of Wilfried Bony from Swansea City.
Having impressed in the Bundesliga, the centre-back is now looking to cement a permanent move to the German club.
“I am very happy here and looking forward to every game,” the defender told Bild.
“After the season we all have to talk and see what the best solution is. But for sure, I would like to stay here. I take a long view with Schalke. The players, the staff, the organisation – everything here is of the highest level.”
