BREAKING: Man United boss Van Gaal denies misconduct charge

The Football Association have confirmed that Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has denied his misconduct charge.

The Dutch boss was charged for his post-match remarks following the FA Cup draw with Cambridge United last month and the FA claimed that the comments were ‘alleged and/or implied bias on the part of the match referee and/or brought the game into disrepute.’

A hearing then followed but a statement has now been released by English football’s governing body, which read: “Louis Van Gaal denies FA misconduct charge in relation to media comments and requests personal hearing, date to be confirmed.

“The Manchester United manager was charged following the FA Cup tie against Cambridge United on 23 January 2015. It is alleged his comments constitute improper conduct in that they allege and/or imply bias on the part of the match referee and/or bring the game into disrepute.”
