Diego Simeone will not swap Madrid for Manchester this coming summer, according to Guillem Balague.
The Argentine coach has been strongly linked with a move to Manchester City in recent weeks as the Premier League champions look to replace Manuel Pellegrini after a poor run of form.
Simeone has worked wonders at Atletico Madrid in recent years, helping them win the La Liga title last season, beating of the likes of Barcelona and Real Madrid.
However, Sky Sports’ journalist Guillem Balague has rubbished such reports and said that the former midfielder is keen to remain at Vicente Calderon.
“None. Because he’s staying. 100 percent he’s staying, ” he told Revista de la Liga.
“He’s staying partly because he sees the club developing so there’s a lot of money coming in from China as we know.
“And partly because he got Fernando Torres and he’s told Torres he will stay one more year.”
