Man United’s XI to LEAVE this summer?

Football Express News looks at the 11 players set to leave Manchester United this coming summer.

Anders Lindegaard

30-year-old Danish keeper has featured just 23 times since arriving at Old Trafford from Aalesund in 2010 and is ready to leave the club this summer after failing to get past Victor Valdes and David de Gea for a starting place. Interest from clubs in his native country have been reported.

Antonio Valencia

The Ecuadorian winger has played over 200 games for United since joining from Wigan Athletic in 2009 but has failed to hold down a regular starting place under new boss Louis van Gaal, although he has helped out in a full-back role in recent weeks. His time at the club is expected to come to an end in June as the Dutch boss looks to improve his defensive options.

Chris Smalling

25-year-old Smalling is expected to be sold this summer as Van Gaal plans to add a number of central defence options. Mats Hummels, Diego Godin and Raphael Varane have been linked in the last week, leaving the young English defender questioning his future.

Jonny Evans

Similar to Smalling, Evans is expected to be sold, rather than kept on if the aforementioned are signed. Van Gaal is keen to use the funds from his sale and that of Smalling to fund other moves.

Phil Jones

Phil Jones arguably has the best chance out of himself, Smalling and Evans to remain in the United set-up but his playing time next season is unlikely to be anything more than cup games and the odd Premier League start.

Ashley Young

At 29, former Aston Villa man Ashley Young is fully expected to be sold this summer and has plenty of interest from a number of Premier League clubs, including West Ham United, Newcastle United, Tottenham Hotspur and Everton.

Maroune Fellaini

Belgian midfielder Fellaini has struggled since his big-money move from Everton in 2013. Boss Louis van Gaal has been impressed with his cameo roles at times but the Dutch boss knows he can lure clubs into paying a good fee.

Michael Carrick

England midfielder Carrick will see his current deal expire in June and it is unlikely to be extended by Van Gaal. The Dutch boss has a number of options to strengthen his midfield and has already made initial moves to sign Nigel de Jong from AC Milan.

Radamel Falcao

Colombian striker Falcao does have a buying option in his loan deal at United but the English club are still undecided to follow it through. United have instead been linked with Edinson Cavani of Paris Saint Germain and are concerned that the former Atletico Madrid striker is past his best.

Ander Herrera

The Spanish midfielder was a big money buy last summer but he has mysteriously failed to live up to expectations. A move back to La Liga is heavily expected with Real Sociedad manager David Moyes keen, whilst Atletico Madrid and Valencia are also showing interest.

Adnan Januzaj

The next big thing! Januzaj has failed to live up to that tag and is now closer than ever to a summer exit. Spanish clubs have been showing interest with Moyes again keen to lure him to the Anoeta.
