Man United & Man City miss out as Reus agrees new deal

Manchester United and Manchester City target Marco Reus has agreed a new and improved deal at Borussia Dortmund, according to ruhrnachrichten.de.

The German winger had been touted for a summer move after the likes of Real Madrid, Chelsea, Manchester City, Manchester United and Bayern Munich all showed interest in his services.

Question marks over his future with Dortmund had also gathered pace after the Bundesliga side struggled this season, failing to move themselves off the bottom spot in the league standings in recent weeks.

However, it is now understood that the German international has put pen to paper on a new deal with Jurgen Klopp’s side.

Reus’ new deal is expected to run to 2017 but an official announcement is likely to follow in the coming days.

One final point which clubs will remain interested in is Reus’ buyout clause, which is likely to be increased.
