Liverpool trio could miss Spurs game

Liverpool trio Raheem Sterling, Philippe Coutinho and Adam Lallana are facing a late fitness test ahead of Tuesday’s Premier League game against Tottenham Hotspur.

Brazilian midfielder Coutinho was unable to play longer than the hour mark against Everton on Saturday, whilst Raheem Sterling was also substituted for an injury concern.

Lallana, who has found good form in recent weeks after a stuttering start since arriving on Merseyside from Southampton; failed to make the trip across Merseyside to Goodison Park through a calf injury.

“Phil Coutinho had a knock on his knee and Raheem had a knock on his foot,” Brendan Rodgers told the club’s official website.

“We had fresh players on the bench to bring on and hopefully they will be fit for Tuesday. We need to see how he [Lallana] is but he has a big possibility for Tuesday.”
