David Beckham calls for Kane to have England chance

Former England captain David Beckham has called for Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane to be given an international call-up.

Kane has been in superb form this season and has scored 22 goals in all competitions, more than any other Premier League player.

The youngster’s impressive form has seen many pundits and fans voice to England manager Roy Hodgson and ask him to include Kane in his squad for March’s fixtures against Lithuania and Italy.

And, former Manchester United and Real Madrid star Beckham, who earned 115 caps for England has also called for Kane’s involvement.

“Being English and seeing someone like Harry and the way he’s playing and the way he’s played this season, he’s having a stunning year,” Beckham said at a Unicef gala on Monday.

“I think everyone is singing his praises and rightly so. He’s 21 years old, he’s working hard and has got a good head on his shoulders so we will see.

“It doesn’t matter what age you are – if you’re good enough then you should play.”

England face Lithuania in a Euro 2016 qualifier at Wembley on March 27.
