Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey believes Francis Coquelin has been an impressive inclusion in the squad this season.
The 23 year old Frenchman has claimed a first team spot in the Arsenal starting eleven after a string of impressive Premier League performances and has recently put pen to paper on a new contract with the North London outfit.
After gaining impressive plaudits from pundits of the game for his recent performances for Arsene Wenger’s side, team-mate Aaron Ramsey has also issued some words of wisdom for the young midfielder.
“He’s very solid defensively, wins the ball back and gives it to other players to start off attacks,” Ramsey explained in recent comments to the media.
“He’s done really well, I’ve been really impressed by the way he’s been playing and he’s earned this credit he’s getting at the moment.
“I have that insurance now where I know he’s going to be sitting in front of the back four so it allows me to get forward whenever I want. I try to get back in as much as I can and as quickly as I can.
“I’m feeling stronger every game to be able to do that. The team’s doing really well and there’s a good understanding and level of confidence at the moment.”
Coquelin has been compared to the Arsenal legend Patrick Vieira with his defensive style of play along with the ability to play quality balls to attacking players.
