Arsenal held more meetings with the representatives of Mario Balotelli and is it understood that a £27m deal is now set to be completed.

The Italian striker is currently at the World Cup with his country and scored against England in their 2-1 win last week, prompting more interest from a number of clubs who have been monitoring his situation.

Arsenal have been one of those as boss Arsene Wenger looks to improve his attacking options and build on the North London club’s FA Cup success last season.

Balotelli, who played well for AC Milan last season is ready to leave the Italian side after they failed to qualify for the Champions League and would seemingly relish a move back to England.

Meetings took place earlier this week between Arsenal and Balotelli’s representatives in which the latter outlined the conditions of which the former Man City man desires.

And, Football Express News understands that agreements were made over a 180k per week contract with a transfer fee of £27m.

Balotelli would link up with French striker Olivier Giroud, whilst Wenger is also keen on bringing back Carlos Vela from Real Sociedad in what would look like a formidable strike force at the Emirates next season.
