Man City ready to beat Liverpool in Ings race

Manchester City are considering a move for Burnley striker Danny Ings, according to Manchester Evening News.

The 22-year-old has been in good form for the Clarets this season, having net seven goals in 22 appearances.

His form has gained interest from Liverpool recently and the Merseyside club were reportedly close to a cut-price deal in the January transfer window, with Burnley keen to gain some reward given that his contract expires in June.

Brendan Rodgers remains keen on completing a move in the summer but that has now been put in jeopardy after reigning Premier League champions Man City who could be leading the race for the Englishman’s signature.

Tottenham Hotspur are also said to be interested as they seek to replace both Emmanuel Adebayor and Roberto Soldado, who are likely to be sold this summer.
