Manchester United ‘alone’ in Marco Reus interest

Manchester United are leading the race to sign Marco Reus from Borussia Dortmund in the summer after interest died down from other clubs.

The German winger has been touted for a summer move after the likes of Real Madrid, Chelsea, Manchester City and Bayern Munich all showed interest in his services.

Question marks over his future with Dortmund have also gathered pace after the Bundesliga side have struggled this season, failing to move themselves off the bottom spot in the league standings.

Whilst, plenty of clubs have been interested, it is now understood that the aforementioned have cooled their interest and leave Man United in pole position to complete a summer move.

United, have also agreed in principle a move for Reus’ team-mate Mats Hummels over January, meaning that relations between the two clubs are in a good position.

The World Cup winning defender will fill a huge gap in central defence for United boss Louis van Gaal, who has struggled for consistency in that role after both Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand left last summer.
