West Brom striker Saido Berahino set to sign new deal at club

West Bromwich Albion forward Saido Berahino is set to pen a new deal at the Midlands outfit, FEN understands.

The 21-year-old only signed a new deal at the Hawthorns in the December of 2013, however is set to extend his stay further following months of speculation for the in-demand forward.

Albion’s fellow Premier League side, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur, had previously been interesting in acquiring the England Under-21 international striker, so the Baggies will be keen to get the deal done for their prized asset.

Berahino is set to increase his current weekly wage of £12,000 a week, when he commits his future to West Brom.

Initial negotiations over a new deal had previously stalled earlier in the Premier League season, which had alerted both Spurs and Liverpool to a £23 million move.

However, recently appointed manager Tony Pulis views Berahino as a key component of his future plans, and is set to reward the striker with a handsome new deal with the club.

Berahino has impressed for West Bromwich this season, netting 14 goals in 27 appearances.
