Manchester United are set to offer a contract to former Manchester City youngster Sadik El Fitouri, reports the Daily Mail.

The 20-year-old defender has been on the books at City, but left after struggling to find a way into the first team under Manuel Pellegrini.

El Fitouri, who plays as a right back is also said to have fallen out of love for football, but that has not stopped United boss Louis van Gaal from making contact with his agent.

Currently with Salford FC since December, the defender is now likely to be given a chance at United, given that the lower league club is owned by Gary Neville, Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs.

United are prepared to offer him an 18-month deal after he impressed in an U21 game recently.
