Inter Milan working on Yaya Toure deal

Inter Milan are preparing a summer move for Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure, confirms boss Roberto Mancini.

The Ivory Coast international has been a key figure in City’s recent successes since joining them from Catalan giants Barcelona, but came close to departing the club last summer after reportedly being unhappy following a number of off-field incidents.

Toure, who is currently on international duty with his country at the Africa Cup of Nations; has once again been linked with an exit after further claims he is unhappy at the Etihad stadium.

And, Italian side Inter are said to be front runners with former City boss Mancini keen to engineer a move in June.

He told Il Giornale: “He’s one of the best players in the world, he can still have his say. He played for many teams, in many leauges like Belgium, Spain, Russia, England. He only misses Italy, this may be a good chance for him.

“We’re working on it. You know, there are some players who may change team and Yaya is one of them. Next year we may try: we just need three champions to close the gap with Juventus.”

Inter have signed Lukas Podolski, Xherdan Shaqiri and Marcelo Brozovic this January.
