£32m centre-back happy to join Manchester United

Athletic Bilbao centre-back Aymeric Laporte is happy to join Manchester United only if the the full fee is paid, reports The Peoples Person.

The 20-year-old defender has a €42 million release clause, which is roughly £32 million.

Real Madrid also hold an interest in the promising defender, however Manchester United are set to rival the La Liga club for the French defender.

Laporte joined Bilbao in 2012 and has gone on to make 66 appearances for the Spanish outfit, and he has impressed many with his mature performances at the heart of defence.

Louis Van Gaal’s side signed Ander Herrera from Athletic Bilbao last season after buying out his contract, and United may have to do the same to land the defender.

Manchester United currently sit in fourth position in the Barclays Premier League, having accumulated 40 points from 22 league games thus far this season.
