Spurs target Luiz Adriano discusses Roma links

Tottenham Hotspur target Luiz Adriano has discussed his chances of leaving Shakhtar Donetsk, saying the club will only sell if the right offer is received.

The Brazilian striker has been in good form for Shakhtar this season and has impressed a number of top European sides, including Italian duo Juventus and Roma.

Whilst, both are keen to make a January move, it is understood by our sources that Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has also discussed a potential move with his hierarchy.

And, the 27-year-old has opened up about his potential exit from Ukraine, saying that all parties need to receive the ‘correct offer’.

“I am very happy to be attracting interest from so many important clubs, but this is happening purely thanks to Shakhtar Donetsk, who gave me the opportunity to become known on the international stage,” he told calciomercato.it.

“I have been in Ukraine for eight years and still have a year left on my contract. I intend to honour it and, if I were to leave, it would only be if an offer arrived that was good for me and the club. I am very grateful to Shakhtar for all they’ve done for me.

“I heard many rumours of interest from Italian teams, but so far I have not received any proposals. I am very happy that my style of play is appreciated. Roma are a great team with a long tradition behind them.

“It is an honour to be of interest to them. Serie A is very difficult and competitive, so every player would love to go there. Without doubt Italy is one of the countries I’d love to play in.”

Adriano is the top scorer in this season’s Champions League with nine goals.
