Valdes concedes against Liverpool for Man United U21’s

Victor Valdes conceded for the first time in a Manchester United shirt but helped the Under-21s beat Liverpool on Monday evening.

The former Barcelona keeper was barely called into action during the game but could do very little about Jerome Sinclair’s tidy finish at the near post.

Nick Powell had given United the lead and they won the game thanks to central defender Paddy McNair, who hit a powerful striker in the back of the net shortly after half-time.

Valdes signed an 18-month deal with United at the beginning of January after recovering from an injury with the medical staff at Old Trafford.

He is unlikely to be called upon with number one David De Gea in good form.

Out-of-favour midfielder Anderson, expected to leave the club on a free at the end of the season, played 88 minutes in the game, whilst West Ham United target Darren Fletcher missed out.
