Inter Milan have beaten Arsenal to the £6m signing of Marcelo Brozovic, confirming the deal via their official website.

The 22-year-old was in attendance as Inter lost 1-0 to Torino on Sunday and sat down to run through final details on his move to the San Siro on Monday morning.

The Croatian international has been linked with a number of European clubs with Arsenal said to be keen before they moved for Villarreal’s Gabriel Paulista.

Inter confirmed the move via their official website on Monday, announcing that the defender will arrive on a two-year loan deal.

“FC Internazionale would like to announce the signing of Marcelo Brozovic. The player joins the club on a two-year loan deal, with an obligation to purchase the player permanently at the end of the two years.”

Inter boss Roberto Mancini has now made three signings in the January transfer window with Brozovic following Xherdan Shaqiri’s arrival from Bayern Munich and Lukas Podolski from Arsenal.
