Colombian winger pushing through Chelsea move

Fiorentina winger Juan Cuadrado had told the Italian club that he wants a January move to Chelsea.

The Colombian forward has emerged as a top transfer target for Jose Mourinho’s side and negotiations between both Chelsea and Fiorentina continue to gain momentum.

The Serie A club are still holding out for a figure of around £28m for the talented forward, but Chelsea are reluctant to pay much more than their recent off of £20.6m, which was rejected on Friday.

The Premier League side’s reluctance in paying more may now have been wise as Cuadrado has demanded talks with Viola bosses on Monday to ask them to accept Chelsea’s advances and allow his move to England.

The January transfer window closes at the end of this week and the race will now be on for Chelsea to complete the deal.

Meanwhile, Andre Schurrle and Mohamed Salah are set to leave Stamford Bridge with the latter set for a loan move to Roma.
