Manchester United will demand Gareth Bale in return for David de Gea as the Spanish keeper looks more and more destined to join Real Madrid.
Former Atletico Madrid keeper De Gea has been arguably United’s best player this season, coming off the back of what many call a ‘breakthrough’ season in the Premier League last campaign.
However, his time at Old Trafford is now questionable after interest from long term admirers Real Madrid continues to hot up.
The Spanish giants have held a keen interest in De Gea since he played for cross-city rivals Atletico Madrid and they see him as the perfect replacement for Iker Casillas, who is expected to leave the club in June.
De Gea has been offered a new contract at United but it is likely he will turn down £200,000 per week to move back the Spanish capital.
But, United are keen to demand Gareth Bale as part of any such deal, having been linked with the former Tottenham Hotspur winger already this season.
Bale has somewhat fallen out of favour with the Madrid fans and fellow team-mates after a number of ‘selfish’ pieces of play in recent weeks.
