Chelsea look elsewhere after Cuadrado and Costa bids fail

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is considering other transfer targets after having bids for Juan Cuadrado and Douglas Costa bids rejected.

Both Fiorentina and Shakhtar Donetsk have both turned down approaches from the Premier League leaders after both set asking prices on the Cuadrado and Costa of over £22m.

Whilst, Chelsea remain confident of signing one of the two, Portuguese boss Mourinho is keen to move his interest elsewhere before the January transfer window closes in less than a week.

Newcastle United’s Moussa Sissoko has been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge in recent weeks after a superb run of form and Mourinho is said to be a keen admirer of the French international.

To raise the funds for a potential new signing, Mourinho is hoping to sell both Mohamed Salah and Andre Schurrle after both have been linked with a move to the Bundesliga.

Schurrle joined Chelsea in the summer of 2013 in a deal before the former Real Madrid coach returned to Stamford Bridge and his time is now said to have come to an end.
