Former Chelsea star wanted by West Brom

West Bromwich Albion manager Tony Pulis is toying with the idea of making a January move for Michael Essien of AC Milan.

The former Chelsea midfielder has been deemed surplus to requirements at the Italian side and is reportedly looking for a new club, deciding to call time on his time in the Serie A, just one year after joining the San Siro outfit.

Italian media Sport Mediaset have suggested that Essien’s agent has been offering his services around the Premier League and that West Bromwich Albion have been extremely interested.

New Baggies boss Tony Pulis remains unbeaten since taking over two weeks ago, but remains keen on improving their squad options.

The 32-year-old Ghana player is unlikely to remain at Milan for longer than his current deal and has also received offers from a number of Major League Soccer and United Arab Emirates sides.
