Neville: Man United fans are impatient

Former Manchester United defender Gary Neville has claimed that the club’s fans are impatient towards new boss Louis van Gaal.

Van Gaal’s time as United boss since he took over at Old Trafford last summer has been indifferent to say the least but fans at the club are continuing to heap pressure on the Dutch coach for his change in formation, rotation policy and decision making.

A 2-0 win over Queens Park Rangers at the weekend saw United back to winning ways but fans of the club called for Van Gaal to change from his 3-5-2 formation and former defender Gary Neville says that the United faithful have become ‘unpatient’.

“It’s more impatience than unhappiness,” he told Sky Sports News.

“They haven’t been taking risks in the 3-5-2 system and in the first 57 minutes at QPR there were no goals, only five shots, four on target and 68 per cent possession.

“Then, when they go to the back four, there’s less possession but goals, more shots and generally a far better performance from them in the last half hour.”
