Real Madrid plan squad sales to fund David de Gea move

Real Madrid are planning to sell both Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema in order to fund a move for Manchester United keeper David de Gea and Paris Saint Germain’s Edinson Cavani.

Spanish giants Madrid have been interested in De Gea for sometime, having narrowly failed to land the Spanish keeper when he moved to Man United in 2011.

His rise and form in English football has further enhanced their interest in the future Spanish number one, but having been told to pay £50m for the keeper; Carlo Ancelotti’s side know that they must sell before making a move.

One way in which Madrid are toying with are to sell Gareth Bale, with Manchester United, Bayern Munich and Chelsea all showing interest.

Another player on the market at Madrid is Karim Benzema, who could be in line for a move to Liverpool as Madrid plan to seal a deal for Edinson Cavani.

The French striker has been under slight criticism this season and towards the back end of Madrid’s Champions League winning campaign in 2013/2014, having scored just one goal in his last 10 games.

Benzema is now likely to be sold by Madrid in the summer, ending his five year spell with the Spanish giants.

Liverpool are the French international’s biggest admirers and it is being reported in both Spanish and English press that Madrid will offer the striker to Brendan Rodgers for a fee of £40m.

Madrid then plan to use those funds on making a move for Edinson Cavani, who despite being in good form for French side PSG; has cited a desire to leave the club.
