Chelsea monitoring Fiorentina star Cuadrado

Chelsea could make a shock January move for Fiorentina’s Juan Cuadrado, according to reports in Italian press.

The Colombian winger has been in typically brilliant form once again this season, fresh off the back of a good World Cup campaign, which saw him perform well for his country.

Cuadrado has long been attracting the interest of top European club’s such as Manchester United, Real Madrid and Barcelona, but a move failed to materialise in the summer.

However, Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is now considering a January bid which is likely to be £26.8m, which will trigger Cuadrado’s release clause.

Fiorentina are likely to put off any advances for the Colombian, but should Chelsea pay that amount, then the move will be solely down to the winger himself, who has talked up playing for one Europe’s biggest clubs in the past.
