Inter line up ex-Spurs target

M'Vila

Inter Milan are reportedly on the verge of signing former Tottenham Hotspur target Yann M’Vila from Rubin Kazan.

A source close to White Hart Lane told Football Express News the north London outfit were keen on the France international last year, only to see him leave Ligue 1 side Rennes for the Russian club.

According to a fresh report from Italian source TuttoSport, he is almost certainly on the move again and is close to putting pen to paper on a four-year deal at Inter.

He is said to have already travelled to Milan to undergo medical tests before the transfer is confirmed.

The final details of the nature of the agreement also have to be thrashed out, as the first 12 months could be counted as a loan before his stay becomes permanent.

Boss Walter Mazzarri has identified his midfield as an area in urgent need of improvement after an inconsistent 2013-14 season which saw the San Siro giants miss out on Champions League qualification.

Should M’Vila’s switch go through, it could see Inter end their interest in Queens Park Rangers midfielder Stephane M’Bia.

Tutto Mercato Web yesterday claimed the 27-year-old was on Mazzarri’s radar, but he could be deemed too similar to M’Vila, giving his other suitors fresh hope of landing him during the summer transfer window.

The holding midfielder has only 12 months remaining on his contract at QPR.
