Former Newcastle United winger Hatem Ben Arfa cannot understand why he has not been allowed to complete his move to Ligue 1 side Nice.
Ben Arfa is currently a free agent and was due to sign for Nice after being released from his contract by Newcastle United, following six months on loan with Hull City.
However, FIFA rules state that a player cannot play for more than two clubs in the same season and the issue has now gone to the French Football League.
The 27-year-old is seeking to push through the move and Nice hope that a deal can be reached between them and the Ligue de Football Professionnel (LFP).
“I do not understand why they would try to stop me from playing in France, my home, and say I should be in England or somewhere else,” he said. “Why always try to create problems where there are none?
“I have only one desire – to play again on the pitches of Ligue 1, to have fun with my team-mates, and to give pleasure to the fans who have welcomed me as ever.”
