Tottenham in pursuit of Colombian hot-shot

Tottenham are keeping tabs on Sevilla forward, Carlos Bacca, after scouts from the club visited Southern Spain last week to watch the Colombian in league action against Celta Vigo.

Although aged 28, the striker has been a late developer being in form for both his current side and his previous one Club Bruges in Belgium.

He has scored a goal in every other game in La Liga and Spurs would be open to a part-exchange deal involving Roberto Soldado.

This would help provide support in Mauricio Pochettino’s squad as he attempts to push for a possible top 4 finish in the Premier League, and also provide some striking assistance for prolific Harry Kane.

Spurs are also monitoring the situation involving equally prolific Alexandre Lacazette who alerted sides in Spain and England of his availability from Lyon.

Although big admirers of the young Frenchman, his club would be demanding a minimum £25million fee which is likely to ward off any legitimate interest for the 23 year old from White Hart Lane.

Another player on Spurs’ radar is James McCarthy of Everton, should Tottenham’s continual pursuit of Morgan Schneiderlin fall through. McCarthy joined Everton from Wigan for £13million in 2013, and with the vested interest from both North London sides, Everton hope the £25million price tag will scare them off.

In addition, Spurs are still pursuing Saido Berahino from West Bromich Albion and Danny Ings of Burnley, who faces Spurs in an FA Cup third round replay on Wednesday night at White Hart Lane.
