Newcastle United hold talks with Labbadia

Former Stuttgart manager Bruno Labbadia has held talks with Newcastle United over the head coach role, according to reports.

The Magpies are desperately searching Europe for a new manager after Alan Pardew left his role to take over at Crystal Palace during the winter period.

Many names have been mentioned with Remi Garde of Lyon being one of them, however, the Frenchman is keen to take a sabbatical before taking charge at St. James Park.

Labbadia has been out of work over a year after leaving Bundesliga side Stuttgart in August 2013 but is keen to get back into football.

It is understood that Newcastle have made contact with the German on two occasions in the last week and that talks are progressing.
