Blanc wants to see improved PSG

Laurent Blanc has challenged his Paris Saint-Germain squad to return to form after their dismal defeat to Bastia on Saturday.

The French champions saw Bastia overturn a 2-0 lead to lose 4-2 on Saturday in Ligue 1 and will hope that they have learnt their lesson as they take on Saint-Etienne this Tuesday in the Coupe de la Ligue.

Blanc’s side sit fourth in the league, four points off leaders Lyon and the French coach has told his players to bounce back following the weekend setback.

“We are not happy, we are angry,” Blanc told a news conference on Monday.

“There is little time to bounce back but I hope and I think we can. There is a challenge to perform and we must also be aware of certain things.

“The staff and I, we will assume our responsibilities, but there needs to be an awareness among the players, that everyone bounces back without question.

“This is how we will get there, we will bounce back.”
