Swansea City aiming to sign Newcastle United striker

Swansea City are looking at the possibility of signing Papiss Cisse as they look to replace Manchester City bound Wilfried Bony.

Ivory Coast striker Bony is set to complete his move from Swansea to Man City in the coming days, completing a £30m deal which was agreed over the weekend.

Whilst, Swans boss Garry Monk has talked up French striker Bafetimbi Gomis to replace the Ivorian, reports across England have claimed that the young manager is keen to make a £7m bid for Newcastle United striker Papiss Cisse.

Cisse, who is on international duty with Senegal at the African Cup of Nations, is fully aware of interest from the Welsh club and with just over a year remaining on his current deal, it seems Newcastle could be willing to sell.

Cisse is Newcastle’s top goalscorer this season with nine goals in 13 appearances.
