Ronaldo: Only god knows my future

Cristiano Ronaldo says he is happy at Real Madrid and aims to win more titles, but admits he does not know what the future holds.

Speaking at the Ballon d’Or ceremony on Monday evening, the Portuguese winger was asked if he would be tempted to move elsewhere before the end of his career.

“Nobody knows,” he told reporters. “Only God knows the future, but I’m very happy at Real Madrid. I signed a new deal one year ago, but in the future you never know.”

The 29-year-old claims he hopes to repeat similar successes to last year with Real Madrid in 2015.

“The aim in 2015 is try to do what we did in 2014 – to win important titles for the club, maintain the high demands set by the club and make it to the most important dates at the end of the season.”

Speaking just moments before the ceremony, Ronaldo commented on Ballon d’Or rivals Lionel Messi and Manuel Neuer, before speaking about the possibility of joining the likes of Johan Cruyff, Michel Platini and Marco van Basten, who also have three titles.

“It’s a culmination of a lot of situations,” the forward said. “To enter into the list of the best players ever, I am certain I am going to achieve that. This is my eighth year here in Zurich and all three of us want to win.

“It makes me proud and it motivates me – I want to carry on like this.”
