Adams: Henry may not be a great coach

Tony Adams has warned former Arsenal team-mate Thierry Henry that he may not be a good coach.

The former Barcelona and Arsenal forward recently ended his playing career and hinted in his final press conference that he could move into management in the future.

However, his former team-mate Adams has advised the 37-year-old to think carefully before entering management, claiming that the best players sometimes do not make good coaches.

“Just because he’s one of the best players to ever play the game doesn’t mean he’s going to be a great coach or manager,” Adams exclusively told Goal.

“Thierry is a great man but he’s not even started in the coaching profession yet.

“I was with Jose Mourinho at Inter, and he said to me that I was 10 or 20 years behind. Whilst I was winning all of those trophies with Arsenal, he was learning how to be a coach.”
