Liverpool have £12m bid accepted for Bayern star

Liverpool have had their £12m bid for Xherdan Shaqiri accepted by Bayern Munich, Football Express understands.

Brendan Rodgers has held a long term interest in Bayern winger Shaqiri ever since he performed well for his country, Switzerland, in the 2014 World Cup in Brazil and the Northern Irish boss is seemingly edging closer and closer to getting his man.

Shaqiri has struggled to find first team football with the Bundesliga champions, despite being heavily praised time and time again by boss Pep Guardiola.

His desire to play week in, week out, has since caused problems, seeing the German club put the winger on the transfer market in November time, ahead of the January transfer window.

Italian side Roma have also been keen admirers, but a bid of £12m has now been accepted by Bayern from Liverpool.

Whilst a transfer fee has been agreed, it remains to be seen if the Merseyside club can convince the Swiss youngster to join them.

Meetings between his representatives and Liverpool officials are due to take place next week.
