Manchester United are ‘clear’ favourites to sign Benfica’s Enzo Perez after Valencia were priced out of a move for the midfielder.
The Argentine international, 28, has been in superb form for Portuguese side Benfica this season, coming off the back of a relatively impressive World Cup in which he helped his country reach the final.
Perez has been heavily linked with a move away form Portugal though with the likes of Man United and Valencia linked.
However, recent movements in Spain have now led Valencia to back out of any such move as SuperDeporte report that the La Liga side are unable to afford the £25m asking price set on the midfielder’s shoulders.
Sources close to United boss Louis Van Gaal claim that the Dutchman is keen on Perez and believes he and Daley Blind can link up well in midfield.
