Goals from Lukas Podolski (2) and Aarom Ramsey (2) saw Arsenal beat Galatasaray 4-1 on Tuesday in the Champions League.
Arsene Wenger decided to rest a number of first team players for the visit to Istanbul, despite a battle with Borussia Dortmund for top spot in the group.
One of those given the chance to perform against Galatasaray was German winger Lukas Podolski, who profited from a rare start by scoring the game’s opening goal after just three minutes.
The former Bayern Munich star lashed home a delightful effort which hit the roof of the net from a tight angle.
The hosts then squandered two chances as Hakan Balta and Wesley Sneijder were denied by Wojciech Szczesny.
60 seconds after Sneijder’s effort, Aaron Ramsey would put the visitors 2-0 ahead as he calmly finished into the bottom corner.
And, the Welsh midfielder would score again moments later, this time with a beauty as he lashed a powerful striker which went in from 25-yards out.
The second half was a largely duller affair as Arsenal put their foot off the gas and Galatasaray barely broke forward but they did pull a goal back through the tireless Sneijder, who score with two minutes remaining.
Arsenal would have the last laugh though as Podolski scored with 93 minutes on the clock.
