Real Madrid are set to sign Cruzeiro midfielder Lucas Silva after officially making a bid for the youngster.
Injury problems at Real Madrid have seen Luka Modric, Sami Khedira and most recently James Rodriguez give Carlo Ancelotti a problem in terms of available midfielders.
And, the Italian boss is now keen to speed up the European champions’ interest in Brazilian midfielder Lucas Silva.
Manchester United and Arsenal have both been interested in the 21-year-old but it is understood that the Spanish giants have now lodged a bid in the region of £12m.
“It’s true that we are interested in Lucas Silva but he’s not the only player, ” Ancelotti told reporters during the summer.
Silva recently helped Cruzeiro win the Brazilian title and has been heavily tipped as an important future member of the Brazilian national side.
