City set to snub Inter bid

Jovetic2

Manchester City have no plans to send striker Stevan Jovetic out on loan to Inter Milan, Football Express News understands.

Fresh reports in Italy suggest the Serie A outfit plan to renew their long-standing interest in the Montenegro international and want to lure him to the San Siro on a temporary basis, with a view to a permanent move.

They made similar overtures during the January transfer window only to be met by a firm ‘no’, and a source close to the Etihad Stadium told FEN the Blues’ stance has not changed.

Tutto Mercato Web claims Inter president Erick Thohir is desperate to add Jovetic to the squad before the 2014-15 campaign gets under way.

He is said to be a fan of the 24-year-old’s tactical flexibility, which allows him to operate in a number of different attacking roles, and the fact that he is familiar with the Italian top flight, having spent five years at Fiorentina.

He endured an injury-hit first season in the Premier League last term following a £22million switch from the Viola, but recovered to take part in the title run-in.

Inter have already sounded out Jovetic’s agent, Fali Ramadani, but are almost certain to end up disappointed unless they tempt City with a big-money bid which would see the player leave permanently.
