Liverpool ‘CRAZY’ to turn down Higuain as agent lands in England

Liverpool would be ‘crazy’ to turn down a move for Napoli striker Gonzalo Higuain, says a source close to the club.

The Argentine striker is thought to be keen on a move to England either in January or next summer and has sent his agent to England this week to put out feelers to interested clubs such as Arsenal and Liverpool.

Both have been heavily linked with a move for the former Real Madrid man in recent times, with the latter having indicated him as a replacement for Luis Suarez, who joined Barcelona this summer.

Boss Brendan Rodgers has struggled to replace Suarez this season with Mario Balotelli finding it hard to score and Rickie Lambert struggling to fit in at Anfield.

And, a source close to the club says that Rodgers would be ‘crazy’ to turn down the move if to comes about.

“Liverpool need to replace [Luis] Suarez. The problem is not going to go away, not even when [Daniel] Sturridge returns. Your are still missing someone who can score 25+ goals per season.

“To turn down Higuain, the club would be crazy.”
