PSG switch attention from Di Maria to Spurs midfielder

Paris Saint Germain have ended their interest in Manchester United’s Angel di Maria and have turned to Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Christian Eriksen.

The Ligue 1 champions have long held interest in Argentine play-maker Di Maria and failed to see a move materialise over the summer due to financial regulations.

Di Maria left Real Madrid for Manchester United towards the end of the transfer window but links between the former Benfica man and Laurent Blanc’s side have continued to gain pace.

Whilst, a move seemed unlikely, it was reported in French press that PSG would break the bank to sign Di Maria, but that interest has now been dropped, according to various reports in England and in Paris.

Instead, Spurs midfielder Christian Eriksen has been identified as the perfect signing, with various sources claiming that PSG would be willing to allow Yohan Cabaye to move the other way.

Eriksen has been in superb form this season for Spurs but is seen across Europe a major coup, given his experience with Dutch side Ajax.
