Arsenal forward Lukas Podolski has admitted that he dreams about one day returning to former club FC Koln, but their president has other ideas.
The 29-year-old has not a Premier League start for Arsenal this season and has been strongly linked with a move away from the club in January.
The winger, who won the World Cup this summer with the German national side has been linked with a move back to his former club Koln in recent weeks and he has discussed how he dreams of such a move.
“I can imagine a transfer to FC in the next few years because I’m always attached to the club,” the Daily Star quotes him as saying.
“I have always said that I want to hear this hymn again when walking up the stairs with the number 10 shirt. That’s what I dream about and I hope it comes true again.”
Podolski started his career at Koln, however, their managing director, Jorg Schmadtke, told Bild that a move would not be happening.
“Podolski needs a team where he can play to its strengths and bring them to full advantage. We can not currently offer that. I told him our point of view and I think Lukas sees it the same way.”
