Hazard set to sign new contract, insists Mourinho

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is confident Eden Hazard will put pen-to-paper and sign a new contract.

Reports linking the Belgian play-maker away from Stamford Bridge have gained pace in recent weeks with Real Madrid and Paris Saint Germain both reigniting their interest.

However, Blues boss Mourinho has revealed that the talented forward will sign a new deal and has been in talks with the club since June over a new long term deal.

“You look at the age of the players… [Didier]Drogba and John [Terry] are over 30,” he told reporters. “After that, everyone is below 30. Ivanovic is at that limit. All the other guys are very young.

“If they’re happy to be here, like Oscar is showing with a new contract, like Eden is showing: he will sign a new contract sooner or later. They can basically be the Chelsea team for the next few years.”

Mourinho also spoke about the future of captain John Terry, whose contact expires next June.

“Don’t worry,” he added. “Don’t worry with his contract, because he’s not worried. We are not worried. The board has to know before you.”
