Former Barcelona forward Ronaldinho has opened up about the constant debate on who is better – Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo.
Both Messi and Ronaldo have once again been nominated in the top three contenders for the Ballon d’Or award for 2014, which is due to be announced in January, adding to the constant debate on who is the better player.
Whilst former PSG and Barca man Ronaldinho is keen on both, he has compared them by calling Messi ‘magical’ and Ronaldo ‘complete’.
“Cristiano Ronaldo is a very complete player, but Messi is better because he has magic,” he told El Enganche.
Ronaldinho who famously assisted Messi’s first competitive goal, also briefly spoke about he and his team-mates back then forced then Barca boss Frank Rijkaard into handing the Argentine his debut.
“We players asked [then Barca coach] Frank Rijkaard to bring Messi into the first team’s training sessions.”
